I wish you guys the best of luck with this site/petition. Hopefully enough people come here and sign the petition so you can show wb the fans dont want to see singerman 2 and want to go with a reboot and with someone who will treat the character more correctly and all that.

Singer has a bad habit of screwing with the characters in the movies he directs, all the damn time!! He should be banned from any comic based movie.

Congrats for the new site

Congrats for the new site and I hope everythng works out as planned.

As for Singer and his bad habits, I'm sure everyone knows by now that Valkyrie is pushed back to 2009 but I read in Jared that Tommy boy apparently has been meeting the President of Paramount - who fired him in 2006 - trying to get picked up again by the studio. The comment also wrote that if rumours are true the movie is a disaster and TC's German accent non-existent. And considering that he managed to make a flop out of a movie with Meryl Streep and Robert Redford, he's getting anxious.

Congrats Jayne and Steve, you guys did a great job with the site. Here`s hoping for a better and far more improved version of superman.

Valkyrie being pushed back

Valkyrie being pushed back may not have any direct effects on Singers sequel, but it sure as hell doesn`t make him look good.
This is his second movie in which he goes nuts with the budget, and now It`s been pushed back. Surely the WB execs are paying attention to this and taking it under consideration that Singer doesn`t learn from past mistakes and will most likely go above the budget again if they go ahead with the sequel.
They cannot be this stupid.

No prob. I think a cool slanted shield (with a drop shadow like it's floating) would make a good non word logo for this site. It's like our cause is trying to to stand it back up!! =)

The flash entry page doesn't

The flash entry page doesn't seem to work in Foxfire and since there is no other link on the page, users hit a dead end, with no way to get into the site. Maybe you could add a tiny "Skip Intro" or "Enter Here" link to the bottom corner, something unobtrusive, that won't distract from your awesome intro?

Once we're beyond the www.savesuperman.com page, into "/drupal/...", everything looks fine in Foxfire. Foxfire has an add-on that lets users choose to load pages in IE, and most computers have IE anyway, so it isn't a huge issue.

webmistress's picture

delphi, that is strange..

delphi, that is strange..

I based my design on Firefox (2.0) - since I cannot stand using IE - and the entry works perfectly fine for me. In fact, the only problems I had with the site design were in IE7.

However, I will take your suggestion and remove the "skip intro" from the Flash movie, and put it straight onto the HTML page. :)

Thanks for helping iron out the quirks!

Hmm. Maybe it's only something in the settings of my Foxfire browser then? Could be. The rest of the site works great though, and I do love the intro.

Actually, one thing I've

Actually, one thing I've noticed on my 1024x768 screen using IE7 is that there's a horizontal scroll bar caused, I think, by that ultra-wide Flash animation. It's not a big thing but I figured I'd mention it.

Content-wise, I see a lot of potential with these forums so no complaints there.

I like the clean cut forums

I like the clean cut forums style but anything you can do with the HTML? Simple codes like B, I U or even Blockquote (to quote above poster) is not allowed. Can you pick and choose what will be allowed?

HTML and Resolution

HTML and Resolution »»

thecolorsblend » thanks.. I have decently large resolution monitors, so i didn't really notice that. But I will definitely put that on my list for fixes this weekend!

Olea » Yes, I can pick and choose what is allowed, but I never adjusted the setting for users. This system uses < em > instead of < i >.. < strong > instead of < b >.. and < cite > instead of < blockquote > even though this last one doesn't work quite the same way. However, I have added all the requested tags for you. :)

The site is coming along

The site is coming along quite well so far with a lot of positive feedback and great suggestions from everyone. Keep spreading the word on other forums/websites. Tell your family and friends. Email the Board of Directors at Time Warner, WB, DC Comics. It's a great start, but the fight has just begun!!

the site does indeed look really nice.

Btw, what of your blog?

webmistress's picture

:) Thanks, I'm glad everyone

:) Thanks, I'm glad everyone seems to like it!

Btw, what of your blog?

WELL.. to be honest, I'm backing off of that for a bit. I really wanted a place where this new community could come.. and in a more logical set-up than my blog.

But just over a month ago, I started working f/t hours at work.. and I'm freelancing websites and databases on top of this. I've recently received a whole bunch of requests for quotes for websites.. plus I have current web and database builds that need maintenance. Basically, I'm attached to my computer when I am not sleeping.. and I am just completely swamped.

When Steve came up with the idea to build this new community forum, I jumped at the chance. This is something that he is even more passionate about than I.. and he has the time to take care of it and all of you.

So, after the kinks are worked out of this system, you won't see me around as much anymore. Though, I will definitely stop in once in a while and I will check back at my blog when I can.
